[Here shall lie an outline to the high standards of BDcraft Roleplay quality.]

 

 

 

 

 

The Setting:

Characters returned to being real mortals, rather than superheros from the start. One must play smarter, rather than rushing through all obstacles before them.

Steel is rare, and plate armor sparse in these trying times.

You are not entitled to being the hero. You might get to be the hero, but don't except that as a right.

Don't assume one can defeat every monster one comes across. One may wish to simply avoid monsters, if others bear greater riches.

The party doesn't have the "right" to encounter a monster they can defeat, or a situation they can always fix or traps they can always disarm. Players say their actions, the GM determines the results, and both are suprised by the story.

The development of the little guy into an epic hero, not the development of an epic hero into a supernatural being. 

Everyone is poor, working all the hours of the day as hod carriers, coming home exhausted, and happy to have the job. Disease is a worry, towns often are not welcoming to outsiders unless they are there on official business. Heroic Travellers are not a thing, merely wayfarers who wish to do good beneath the scrutiny of a mayor who thinks them to be a spy. Cities are bustling at day, and dangerous and chaotic and dark at night.

Rulers do not waltz into being and cities are not sprung overnight. One may have to be both a citizen and of the faith to become a ruler, or one may have to require a contract with the nearby kingdom to build upon the land.

Not every can read, and in most cultures, literacy is taught by the churches. What hope does one have to become a mage if they cannot even read?

 

Most people spend most of their lives within walking distance of their homes.
